These terms cover your use of SafeNoter as hosted on this website (“the Service”). By saving notes or tasks to a SafeNoter web address on this site, you agree to the terms below.
When you save notes or tasks to a SafeNoter web address, we store the file you created exactly as your browser encrypted it, together with a one-way “proof” derived from your password (not the password itself). We cannot decrypt your content, and we cannot see it — technically, not just as a policy. Anyone, including us, needs your password to read or overwrite what is stored under a given address.
We do not guarantee that data saved to the Service will be kept indefinitely, or that it will never be lost — a disk failure, a server reinstall, running out of storage, or any other operational issue can result in the loss of stored files, and we have no way to recover encrypted content we cannot read. Treat a SafeNoter web address as a convenient way to reach your notes and tasks from any device, not as your only copy. For anything that matters, keep a local backup (the app's “Save As” button) or a copy on your own Google Drive.
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free access to it. The Service may be unavailable at times for maintenance, technical issues, or reasons outside our control, without advance notice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This mirrors the “no warranty” term of the underlying software's AGPL-3.0 license (see the app's “License” menu item) — these Terms cover using the hosted service at this domain specifically, which is a separate thing from the open-source license of the SafeNoter software itself.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
